Hot water (80-90 degrees C or freshly boiled water that has been left to cool for a minute is preferred as Maté will produce the best aroma and taste at this temperature). It is poured over Maté placed inside a container.

The proportion of hot water to a sachet of Maté depends on the individual’s state of health. For a normal preparation, 1-4 cups (1 cup = 150ml) of hot water is added to one sachet of Mate.

For best results, people taking FEI FAH Maté for health reasons should consume it hot and regularly throughout the day. It is advisable to prepare FEI FAH Maté in a sufficiently large quantity (in a pot of flask etc) and take a little at a time when thirsty.
